I finished trimming the wingtip lenses tonight. I secured them to the wingtip with a countersunk #6 screw. This pic shows just a #30 hole. Once the #30 hole was in place, I countersunk the hole for a #6 screw, then enlarged the hole to a #27 for a #6 screw.


I also put some extra #21 holes in between the #40 holes on the hinge meant to be riveted to the fiberglass wingtip. The point of these holes will be for "flox" rivets - basically epoxy rivets. They will add additional strength with the bond of the hinge to the wingtip. I am going to wait a while before I do anything else on the wingtip hinge project. I want to wait until I get my wingtip antennas so I can properly ground them to the hinge before I setup any epoxy.
