I installing the spinner backing plate and the spinner tonight. Some hardware dropped on the floor by the tire, and when I went to pick it up, I couldn't believe what I saw - an abundance of cracking on the sidewalls of the left tire. This is the outboard side.

The inboard side had a fair amount also.

For comparison, this is the right tire, which looks normal. I called up the Wilkerson Tire Company, which I purchased them from almost 2 years ago (less than 100 hours/landings). I sent some pictures to them and they indicated this is abnormal, and caused by some premature oxidation, which occasionally occurs in these tires. They said it is not critical and won't cause any premature blow-outs, and when they get a replacement tire in stock it will be sent my way. Outstanding customer service!

Test flight of the new propeller went off without a hitch! We are back in business!!
