For my landing and taxi lights I am installing two 50W HID lights in each wingtip. The lights are in a 2" MR16 profile which I need to make a bracket to contain the lights. I bought a SafeAir1 kit for mounting these, but it was only for one pair. Since I had two pair, I decided to use the kit as just a template. Using what came with the kit I made 8 mounting brackets (2 per light) out of some 050.

After some cutting, sanding and edge finishing, I had 8 brackets.

Next I made a template out of an old file folder for making an aluminum backing plate for the wingtips.

Using the template I found some 032 scrap that was the perfect size to bend to install in the wingtip. I will take this to work tomorrow and bend it on the bending brake to get a nice bend radius.
