My roommate wanted me to fly him down to the eastern shore of Virginia so he could meet up with his girlfriend. An hour flight sounded much better than a 3.5 hour drive. We lifted off in the morning and it was a good solid overcast around KDMW. We cut through KMTN's airspace to save some time, and headed across the bay. On the eastern shore of MD, we ran into some pretty low cloud and needed to turn around. I was methodically checking the local airports AWOS's to see where the weather was getting better. After detouring around Easton (KESN), we found a nice hole to pop up through. The rest of the flight was uneventful. When we landed at Accomack, my roommate's girlfriend was there waiting for us and they took off for the beach. Accomack County airport (KMFV) had the nicest FBO building I have ever been too - wood floors, tall ceilings and a great pilots lounge. It reminded me of a mountain cabin more than a FBO. Don at the airport was very friendly and helped me fuel up. Him and I chatted for some time until he needed to run back into the FBO to fulfill his duties. I grabbed a cup of coffee and headed back home.

Weather on the way back was a little better with the cloud bases at 2,000'. I needed to do a little weaving between some clouds to stay out of them.

When I got back it was time for an oil change. I decowed the airplane and saw a wonderful mess of oil.

The firewall had some mess on it too. Looks like a majority of it came out of the whistle hole I drilled on the breather.

I didn't have an oil filter or enough oil on me, so I left the airplane in this state.
