Tonight I wanted to glass in the 1/4" thick spacers I made a few nights ago in the hangar. I was emailing my friend Chad Jensen about the spacing between the top of the wheelpants and the tire. He suggested I add another 1/4" from where Sam James marks the center of the axle down. So, that is exactly what I did.

Next I used some flox to attach the 1/4" spacer and put two layers of 8oz glass over it. Why did I used 1/4" spacer? Well, I think 063 was called for, maybe 0.128. But I wanted to be able to put a countersunk screw in the end of the wheelpants to make it looks a little better. Plus, I wanted the wheel to be a little more inboard of the wheelpants than a smaller spacer would of allowed. I calculated that would give me better spacing between the top of the tire and the wheelpants.
