I got to work today and was surprised to see a shipment from Van's there waiting for me. I ordered the parts for the fuel return along with some other hardware on Friday. I really didn't expect it to come in just 4 days over the xmas weekend. On top of it, I am having Van's ship to me via USPS....$7.50 was a steal.

Also I ordered my fuselage today. Check out the fuselage section for all of the exciting details.

I made out this christmas with a bunch of stuff for the plane and the workshop. I got the AeroElectric connection manual, a kitplanes subscription, air line, war workshop slippers and a DeWalt radio. The workshop was without perminant music. The boombox always seemed to wander off to different parts of the house. Finally I have something to stay put, recharge my batteries and entertain me.

For tank prep, I dimpled the ribs and the stiffeners with the pneumatic squeezer and the tank dimple dies. Then I started the last minute prep and tossed a bunch of rivets into a MEK bath.

I then cleaned off the stiffener mating surface on the skins. It took nearly 2 rags of work to get it completely clean. Lots of little dust magets in all of those nice grooves.I then cleaned off the stiffeners and then masked off the skin where I would rather not have sealant. I could of gotton started tonight on sealing the tank, but I would of only had an hour or so. I have a kickass 5 day weekend coming up by cashing out all of my old vacation from 2 years ago (use it or lose it policy). So I think I will relax tonight, plan out everything and start fresh tomorrow.
